Hey Friends! Don’t you just love when old trends come back in style?! I know I do! Today’s DIY is brought to you by a host of quarantine household products that nearly every home now has due to COVID. Remember how much I love giving my old wardrobe a once over to make it new again? (If you don’t, check out my other t-shirt upcycle post here) Well I’m at it again with another super fun and super easy way to add a little flare to your dull/fading t-shirts. Make this trending (again) reverse tie dye t-shirt in no time!
FIRST LET’S TALK MATERIAL FOR YOUR REVERSE TIE DYE T-SHIRT:
Everything needed for this project are basic household items-
a colored t-shirt (I used black)
bleach (or bleach gel)
a fork (or popsicle stick)
rubber bands
a cardboard box or plastic bin
a squirt bottle or measuring up for accurate pouring
& gloves to keep your hands protected.
NOW LET’S GET TO THE FUN PART! FIRST, THE TYING:
Lay your shirt flat and use your fork or popsicle stick to twist the shirt. Keep twisting until the entire shirt is swirled (kind of like a peppermint). Then use rubber bands to keep it in place.
NOW THE FUN FUN PART: THE DYEING
Using 1 part water; 2 parts bleach in a squirt bottle or measuring cup, pour the bleach mixture on the shirt and wait for the magic to happen! I waited about an hour before taking off the rubber bands (with gloves on, of course) then laid the shirt flat to dry for another hour.

a few seconds after applying the bleach 1 hour after bleaching I untied the shirt after 1 hour of drying.
Wash your shirt with some towels (to make sure not to damage any other clothing) let it dry and enjoy your newly styled custom tee!
