QUICK & EASY T-SHIRT UPDATE

Hey friends! Hopefully you’re hanging in there. If social distancing has your cabin fever running high, try this quick and easy t-shirt update! It’ll keep you occupied, especially if you choose to do more than one! Here’s the kicker: it doesn’t cost a thing and it’s much simpler than it looks. All you need is a pair of scissors and a t-shirt that needs a little sprucing. Need a t-shirt? Check out my favorite t-shirts to add this little detail to!

THE QUICK PART:

First, lay your t-shirt flat to visualize how big you’d like your cutout design to be. (I used a noticeably old t-shirt for the sake of this quick tutorial). I personally love the single v-neck look (because it’s the easiest). Then, fold your shirt in half by the collar (see below) so that the front of the shirt is touching. Next, trace a light line where you’ll be cutting. For the v-neck look, I cut what looks like a small upside-down triangle. If you’re a visual learner like myself, see the pictorial below!

Lastly, cut along your traced line, being sure to leave the collar in tact to that there will be what looks like an open space. Then style your outfit as you normally would and be on your merry way! Easy peasy!

YOUR QUICK & EASY T-SHIRT UPDATE IS DONE!

There are a ton of possibilities that you can create such as multiple upside-down triangles all the way around the collar, a square shape instead of a triangle, or cut the entire collar off to make it an off-the-shoulder top.
