Hey friends! Is the stay-at-home order getting the best of you yet? Hopefully not. I’m certain it won’t if you have a birthday that falls within this uncertain time. Yes! It’s possible to still make this year as memorable as any other year! Well sure, you can’t take that long awaited trip you planned months ago. It super sucks. HOWEVER, there is something you can do: MAKE LEMONADE. (Wait I thought we were talking about a quarantine party? What does this have to do with lemonade, Ashley?)

Life just handed us the biggest bag of sour lemons, no? The world is shut down. Businesses are closed. Many have lost their jobs. Schools are closed for the rest of the school year, and we’re left scrambling to get acclimated to this “new norm.” Look at the good that’s come out of it: we’re spending more time with our loved ones at home and we’re spending more time with ourselves. It’s a perfect time to self reflect and wind down from the busy world we once revolved around. I found myself bummed and a little overwhelmed with the thought of not being able to celebrate my birthday traditionally until I decided to make that lemonade. And, my lemonade happens to be this super fun quarantine party (that no one was invited to).
HOW I MADE MY QUARANTINE PARTY MEMORABLE
Well, going to the store has become an anxiety-filled field trip that I’d prefer to avoid at all costs. It’s unreal how much as changed in so little time. I knew I had to improvise with some things I already have at home and use online ordering if need be. Ordering online proved to be a bust, due to the online shopping surge which created countless delivery delays. Instead, I reached out to my favorite party decor etsy shop owner for a cake topper and confetti!! My grandmother beat me to baking a cake (I sincerely enjoy cake decorating) so that gave me a little more time to set up.
I set up a mini photo booth with a ring light, a solid backdrop, some quick DIY accents, and my positive attitude! Here’s what I’ve got!
