Hey Friends! If you’re reading this, you have recently seen the llama fiesta party and you want to make your own party garland like I did! This post is the easiest of the projects, as it’s all paper crafts with little to no measuring required. It’s all preference, really.
I found a complementary image of a cactus shape to use as a template, like this one:
You can use whatever shape that corresponds with your party theme, or you can make a universal one with triangles or rectangles. The possibilities are endless!
There are two ways you can make your shapes: 1) use die cut machine (which is what I did, for a more precise cut) or 2) trace and cut the shape by hand (which is easy since cacti are simply shaped. You can make a 4-5 ft garland with 10 adequately spaced shapes). I cut small cactus flowers to go on the ends, but that is completely optional.
Simply cut out your shapes however you please, then glue your flowers (if you made flowers like I did). Once they’re dry, flip them over and evenly glue your string to the back of your shapes. It’s as simple as that!
If you are not so DIY-inclined to do this type of project, don’t worry! If you just prefer to have the personal feel with a professional touch, you can order all of your paper favor needs on Etsy. Every so often I can take on more tasks than I can handle, and have to lessen my workload. When that happens (and it’s happened quite a few times now), I order from my #1 favorite Etsy shop, Party Like A King! The shop owner is amazingly talented, very personal, and extremely detailed with her work.
