Hey Friends! It’s time to get to the nitty gritty… Have you ever felt like your “level of success” just didn’t measure up? It always hits you at a time where you’re surrounded by loved ones. It’s a family party, someone’s graduation, or even a class reunion. Life shifted for me when I dropped everyone else’s accomplishments and made my own. It’s important to only measure your success by your very own [personal] timeline. I’d seen the following motivational photo circulating the web: “A dream written down is a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dream a reality.”
I took it quite literally, combining the motivationally driven phrase with my self driven affirmations and came up with this list:
- Congrats on your new bundle of joy! Nurse an Idea: Yes, sort of like a baby. Make your dreams your baby. You are giving birth to an idea and you want to nourish it to the very best of your ability.
- Document Everything: Write every single thing down, even if it’s your feelings. It’s good to have something to look back at, review, and change if needed. Become practically obsesses with your new goal.
- Speaking of Goals, set them: Yes, set reasonable goals within your means. Completing small tasks will help you visually see that you are accomplishing small steps that are equivalent to the big picture- your entire goal.
- Utilize All Available Resources- take full advantage of whatever help you can get whether it’s someone helping you with your kids, a cooked meal, a small donation, your local library etc…
- Make It Work: However you can, just make it work! It will, more than likely, take many sacrifices to get to your goals. You’ll have to force yourself to always make time for your goal. Again, it’s your “baby.” You can not neglect your baby because it won’t thrive.
- Be Patient: This is the hardest task of all. Most goals don’t happen exactly how or when we want them to take place. Patience really pays off when you do achieve your goals, though.
- Cancel ALL Failure Appointments: Failure can not and will not be an option. Instead, “cancel” your appointment by making a solution. Solutions are hardly ever handed to us on a silver platter. Your optimism [during what feels like failure] will outshine any negativity. Speak it into existence and cancel that failure.
- Lastly, Just Believe in Yourself: You have to really believe in yourself even when no one else does. You have to believe in your work so much that it doesn’t give anyone a choice but to believe in you. You are worth it.
Just make your own success and mark your own accomplishments. Don’t measure your so-called failures by another’s perceived success. Your life is your life, you control your happiness and successes!
